Are you looking for a powerful tool to make your language learning journey more effective and enjoyable? Look no further than Language Reactor, a Chrome extension designed specifically for language learners. With a total rating of 4.33 based on user reviews, this extension is a game-changer when it comes to improving your language skills.
One of the standout features of Language Reactor is its compatibility with popular streaming platforms like Netflix. Formerly known as 'Language Learning with Netflix', this extension takes your language learning experience to the next level while watching your favorite films and series. It adds dual language subtitles, allowing you to follow along in both your target language and your native language. This feature is incredibly helpful in understanding the differences between what is being said and what is written in the subtitles.
In addition to dual language subtitles, Language Reactor also offers a popup dictionary. This means that you can instantly look up the meaning of any word or phrase by simply hovering over it. The convenience of having a dictionary at your fingertips while watching Netflix cannot be overstated. It eliminates the need to pause the video and search for definitions, allowing for a seamless and uninterrupted learning experience.
Another notable feature of Language Reactor is its precise video playback controls. With this extension, you have full control over the speed of the video playback. You can slow down the video to better understand the dialogue or speed it up to challenge your listening skills. This flexibility in video playback is invaluable for language learners.
But Language Reactor doesn't stop at Netflix. It also supports YouTube, giving you access to thousands of channels and videos on any topic you can imagine. By watching authentic language content on YouTube, you can immerse yourself in real-life conversations and improve your comprehension skills.
Furthermore, Language Reactor extends its benefits beyond streaming platforms. You can import text from books and websites, and the extension will provide a machine translation in your native language. This feature is incredibly useful for reading materials in your target language and understanding the content without getting lost in translation. Additionally, Language Reactor offers a super-realistic text-to-speech feature, allowing you to listen to the text being read aloud with natural-sounding voices.
Whether you are learning a new language or improving your existing language skills, Language Reactor is the perfect companion for your language learning journey. Compatible with Google Chrome on desktop and laptop computers running Windows and MacOS, this extension is easily accessible and user-friendly.

you can‘t use it without money!!! fuxk off
Paid for the pro, but still not able to save words because the netflix setting of language reactor is saying it is not signed in, and it opens up a new tab in which i am already signed in. Totally wasted my money
waited for what felt like a eternity and still nothing loaded!
very good at the time of using it but servers are down :(
been using for 4 years. the new ai thing is a great feature for agglutinative languages
Oh my god, how have i never heard of this, it is exactly what i have been looking for! And it's free!?!?!?!?! Im sure i sound like one of those fake reviews made by bots or something but if you are reading this and are looking to learn a language you need to try this extension!!!! if you somehow don't like it you can always remove it, but please try it!! I am so mad it took me this long to find it myself!
Excited about it. I can learn Enghlish with Youtube.
perfect and have a many usefull feature, it's the best for learning english from movies
This explains words based on the context on YouTube. It's absolutely insane. I really like it... However, it is inconvenient that a login prompt appears even after I'm logged in, and if I right-click and select "read in Language Reactor," it doesn't read immediately like other apps; instead, I have to click more than three times to proceed. Also, even if I set it up to display both Korean and English, it is inconvenient to have to set it up again every time I restart the computer. Maybe it's because I use both a Mac and an Android PC, but anyway, there are some minor bugs, so I would like to give it 4.5 points, but since that is impossible, I am giving it 4 points.
All this time and I still have to manually set it to Ukrainian audio + Ukrainian ASR subtitles. It reverts back to English without fail. Fix. Your. App.
wish i could modify shortcuts
Useful but way too unreliable unfortunately... I receive way too often the "Unable to load subtitles" alert... Such a shame.
This extension really helps me a lot for language learning. But this extension also have major problem, the server. The server often down, like sometimes I can't load my saved words when needed. So, when I want to learn language, I also have to pray that this extension's server will work
readjust the subtitles after ads. it's impossible to keep up. i will cancel membership if you dont fix this
Can you fix French subtitles for the netflix anime a lot of them, especially the rising of the shield hero and Overload has missing subtitles in middle of the episode with pro subscription which are exclusive subtitiles with language reactor since those matches with dubbed audio.
I had been hoping for a product like this for a long time, and I only recently discovered that it actually exists. It is truly an excellent and very useful tool, and I really like all the features it offers. However, there is one strange issue. When I watch Netflix through this tool, the audio volume of the movie dialogue is significantly lower than when I watch Netflix normally on my monitor. For example, when I click on a word, the pronunciation audio plays very loudly. But the actors’ voices in the movie are not even half as loud as that sound. If the pronunciation audio level is 100, the movie dialogue feels like it is only around 40%. Because of this, the dialogue is very difficult to hear. Since English is already hard for me to catch sometimes, having the dialogue volume so low makes it even more frustrating. I often miss the pronunciation of the words in the dialogue, which makes understanding the scene harder. It seems like there may be some kind of issue with the audio balance. It would be great if you could update the software and add a feature that allows users to increase the Netflix dialogue volume. I would love to give this product 5 stars because it is truly a fantastic idea and a very helpful learning tool. However, until the volume issue mentioned above is improved, I can only give it 3 stars for now. I am giving 3 stars mainly to draw the developer’s attention to this problem. Once the volume balance issue is fixed, I will be more than happy to update my review and give it the full 5 stars it deserves.
The extension is working in Chrome, I hope it works for the others since this is so useful for lnguage learning! I met this extension through Refold Method.
Its my first time to use it . really nice
The YT application freezes very often - despite purchasing an additional subscription, it very often does not work!
just doesnt work..
Very helpful learning Chinese since it has Pinyin translations
This is great
i reinstalled and it works! but i wish the study language part was for the bottom language as well.
The grammar explanation for Korean conjugation is excellent. I just wish I could use the same layout as the Language Reactor site, where the original language and its translation are displayed side by side in the sidebar. Alternatively, I wish I could view any YouTube video I choose by entering its URL directly on the Language Reactor site.
There is one option we have been asking for so long. We request that you add an automatic repeat option for each subititle. Lets there is an important sentence that I don't understand the Language Reactor should repeat it for as long as I fully understand the sentence while I am taking notes so I dont have to press button for current subtitle each and every time. We have been patient and did not leave so far so please add this option as urgent. It critically needed.
Doesn't work
there should be a setting for previous subtitles and replay a few milliseconds before
Language Reactor has been an amazing tool for studying languages through YouTube videos! One small feature that would make it even better is a subtitle repeat option. It would be great if I could loop the current subtitle until I decide to move to the next one. This would really help when I'm trying to take notes or fully understand each line without having to manually rewind. Hope you can consider adding this—thanks for building such a fantastic extension!
I really love using Language Reactor—it's one of the best tools out there for learning languages with YouTube! One feature I’d love to see added is a repeat button. When this is turned on, it should automatically repeat the current subtitle until I manually click "next" or turn the repeat off. This would be incredibly helpful when I’m taking notes or trying to understand tricky phrases. It would save time and help with more focused learning. Thanks for the great work so far!
It was good, but lacked video summaries. The community recommended the TinaMind extension, which has subtitle translation and video summaries, and solved my problem.
